Welcome to Children of the Wells! No idea what that is? The best way for you to understand would be to dive right in. Just click on the main page’s book link for The Select’s Bodyguard and start reading.

…But in case you didn’t do that and would prefer to be tortured by boring, informative blogs, here you go:

This is a serialized web fiction site, and every week, there will be new story content up, as well as boring, informative (ahem…fascinating, entertaining) blogs like this one. If you like what you read, subscribe via our email newsletter so you don’t miss a word.

One thing this particular web serial has going for it is that every book takes place in the same fantasy world, a world similar to ours in some ways but where magic rules scientific discovery. And in Jalseion, the scientific center of the world and the setting for the beginning of this series, magic has just blown up, causing chaos, earthquakes, and general destruction. In other words, our story is post-apocalyptic modern fantasy.

But setting is not the most important aspect of what we are trying to create. The characters who populate that setting are our focus. If we aren’t giving you interesting, multi-faceted, deeply conflicted characters, we aren’t doing what we’ve set out to do. In The Select’s Bodyguard, you will meet two intensely driven people, Bron and Calea, the sort of characters one feels passionate about, one way or another (after you’ve read about them, let us know the verdict).

Children of the Wells will be starting off with a single story, released in segments every Tuesday and Thursday, but you’ll see a lot more coming from new authors later this year, so you don’t have to worry about our creative juices running dry. In fact, that’s another plus this website has: a group of diverse writers interested in pushing storylines beyond what one person could conceive.

If you want to know our “hidden agenda,” you can read the About Us page. If you want to glimpse the personalities behind the writing, check out our partially larger-than-life (I mean, true…every word!) profiles on the Staff page. Regardless of the face behind the mask, our purpose is to tell a good story that will leave you, our readers, hungry for more. Hopefully, with a little reader interaction, we will create something YOU are excited to return to every week. Feel free to leave comments. We want to know what you think!
